CoolSculpting vs. Liposculpting: Which is best for YOU?

Today, more and more men and women are becoming interested in body contouring. As the CoolSculpting trend continues, it’s important to me that you are informed of all your options before committing to a procedure that may not be best for your body.

Recently, Cryolipolysis (CoolSculpting) has received a lot of attention due to advertising and media coverage. Though the idea of a non-surgical, fat-freezing procedure appeals to many, CoolSculpting actually requires a larger time commitment and significant cost with very limited results.

The degree of skin tightening needed to produce desirable results is seldom created with CoolSculpting alone. CoolSculpting is best suited for people who don’t have excessive amounts of skin on the areas of the body they wish to treat. It also typically requires multiple appointments over a lengthier period of time and can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 3+ months before you start seeing results.

Basic Liposuction, on the other hand, has been used to tighten skin for decades and, with an experienced surgeon and good technique, can produce natural-looking results for men and women of all ages and sizes— without surgical excision of skin. The best part? Downtime is still minimal and you can see results almost immediately.

In practice for over 17 years, I’ve seen and paired many different techniques with Liposuction, including ultrasonic, water pulses, LASER, and mechanical oscillation cannulas. What does all this mean for you? It means you have options, which an experienced, Board-Certified plastic surgeon should discuss with you during a personalized consultation. If they don’t, it may be time to ask yourself the tough question: “is this surgeon/procedure really right for me?”

As with any procedure, the most important variable when it comes to Liposuction is the surgeon performing it. Though it’s been around for many years, Liposuction has its risks like any medical procedure. That’s why I often use Dr. Simeon Wall’s PAL/SAFE Lipocontouring technique and Dr. Dan DelVecchio’s SST (simultaneous separation and tumescence) technique to create the most precise, natural results possible. You can learn more about this by scheduling a consultation.

The whole point of Liposuction is to enhance your body. Above all else, my team and I value honesty and open communication, meaning we will only suggest procedures that will produce the best results for YOUR body. For instance, if you have a decent amount of loose hanging skin with a lot of stretch marks, you may be more suitable for a Tummy Tuck with a touch of Lipocontouring than just Liposuction or CoolSculpting alone.

Whatever your desired results, we’re here to help you create them. Because you deserve to feel confident in your own skin.
