Want a Low-Maintenance Solution to Drooping Eyelids? Try a Blepharoplasty

If you have struggled with drooping eyelids or creasing and sagging skin around your eye and brow areas, you’ve probably thought about or maybe already used a short-term solution like Botox or another injectable or filler

Perhaps you love the way a soft-tissue filler smooths your skin and makes you look more youthful again. At The Lucas Center, we understand firm, smooth, and soft skin around the eyes and forehead can be a huge confidence booster as you age. For a short-term solution, we’re proud to provide highly-effective wrinkle-reducing products like Botox® and Juvéderm®.

And yet, perhaps you’re tired of receiving the same procedure over and over again to maintain that lovely look — or would rather not begin a treatment requiring regular maintenance.

Two Long-Lasting Alternatives to Fillers & Injectables

We get it: you’ve got enough to maintain in life already! That’s why The Lucas Center is also proud to offer two longer-lasting solutions to drooping and wrinkles around the eye and brow areas: brow lift and blepharoplasty (aka eyelid rejuvenation). While Botox® and similar products are still helpful, we’re seeing an increasing trend toward these one-time procedures which do not require the maintenance of continued use of soft-tissue fillers.

Eyebrow Lift

For this procedure, Dr. Lucas uses an endoscopic technique that is minimally invasive and produces the best possible results for anyone experiencing loose skin around the forehead and brow area.

How does it work?
  • Five small incisions are made in your hairline.
  • Endoscopic technology releases and repositions the skin on your forehead.
  • You enjoy a smoother, more youthful appearance with minimal, hidden scarring.

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Rejuvenation)

This procedure can be performed on both the lower and upper eyelids and results in a smoother, more youthful appearance. For patients whose eyelids have drooped to the point of interfering with their vision, blepharoplasty can also provide significantly improved eyesight.

How does it work?
  • Dr. Lucas makes a delicate incision in the eyelid crease and accesses the area.
  • Extra skin and muscle are removed from around the eyes, while extra fat may also be removed or redistributed.
  • If your preoperative assessment determined the eyelid elevating mechanism is drooping, Dr. Lucas will tighten the elevating muscle, allowing for a raised position of the lid and a more energized resting appearance.
  • The cuts are delicately stitched for the healing process to begin.
  • Any scarring from the procedure is hidden and fades within a few months.
