Top 7 Cosmetic Surgeries with the Quickest Recovery Periods

Fitting your health, beauty, and fitness goals into life’s busyness can be a squeeze. And if you’re curious about cosmetic surgery and aesthetic procedures to help achieve your goals – but your free time is scarce – of course, recovery time is a concern.

Our skilled team here at The Lucas Center offers quite a few popular “quick recovery” procedures to keep you glowing and confident in the middle of a busy life.

“Quick Recovery” Plastic Surgery Procedures

Understandably, surgeries generally require longer recovery times. Nevertheless, The Lucas Center offers some popular surgical options that shouldn’t require too much time off from work or disruption of regular life. Here are a few options:

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Eyelid rejuvenation is a great solution for sagging eyelids or extra skin around the eyes. With precise artistry, Dr. Lucas removes extra skin on the eyelids and any fat above the eye to restore a firmer, more alert, and youthful appearance.

Downtime: Generally a quick recovery, with most patients returning to normal activities within a week.

Chin Augmentation

Your chin greatly affects the balance of your face, as well as your neck and jawline. If you feel your chin is too small, a chin augmentation by Dr. Lucas can adjust its size and placement with the help of a chin implant to help you achieve natural-looking symmetry and more confidence in your facial features. The results can be both subtle and transformative, especially when done alongside liposuction of the neck. Check out some before-and-afters here.

Downtime: Relatively fast recovery, often within one to two weeks.

Targeted Liposuction

Liposuction in small, targeted areas can have a big effect on the contours of your body and on your confidence without taking too much time out of your busy schedule. This is a great option if you are close to your goal weight but have some stubborn areas of excess fat you’d like to remove.

Downtime: Short, with most patients resuming normal activities within a week.

“Quick Recovery” Aesthetic Services

You have options to maintain your youthful appearance and improve your skin without invasive surgery and with very little recovery time. Let’s take a look:

Botox Injections

Botox is a popular treatment performed in-office that reduces the appearance of brow furrows, crow’s feet, or fine lines and wrinkles around the forehead, eyebrows, and mouth. It works by relaxing your facial muscles, resulting in a smoother appearance.

Downtime: Little to none – most people resume normal activities immediately!

Dermal Fillers

As you age, your face and lips naturally lose volume, which is why time brings some sagging jowls, smaller lips, and sometimes sunken areas of the face. The Lucas Center offers injectable soft-tissue fillers from Juvéderm® which are a great option to restore fullness to these areas, giving a refreshed and youthful appearance.

Downtime: Minimal, with some minor swelling or bruising that typically resolves quickly.

Chemical Peels

If you struggle with acne scarring, sun damage, pigment inconsistencies, or fine lines and wrinkles, a chemical peel may be a good fit for rejuvenation! A special solution is applied to your skin which causes damaged top layers to flake and peel away over the next 2-4 days. This process allows brand-new, healthier skin to emerge.

Downtime: Short recovery, usually with a few days of mild redness and peeling, depending on the level of peel you get.

Laser Skin Resurfacing (Ablative & Non-Ablative)

While Dr. Lucas typically recommends treatments like dermabrasion, microdermabrasion, or chemical peels for minor skin imperfections, if you are concerned about deeper, more severe scarring or pitted acne, CO2 laser resurfacing, an ablative treatment, is the preferred choice. Ablative laser treatments remove layers of tissue to effectively correct pitted scars and more severe skin issues. However, it’s important to note that only certain skin types are candidates for ablative laser resurfacing to avoid excessive hypopigmentation.

On the other hand, non-ablative laser treatments, while effective for improving skin texture and radiance, do not remove tissue layers and therefore may not correct pitted scars. These treatments are ideal for those seeking smoother, softer, and more radiant skin with minimal downtime.

Downtime: Minimal for non-ablative treatments, with some redness that typically resolves within a few days.
