How the Innovative Hemostatic Net Improves Face Lift Recovery in Knoxville
Like any type of surgery, the ever-popular face lift requires recovery time afterward. The amount of recovery and the level of activity allowed can depend on your unique health factors. But in general, rest after surgery is required to help you get the best results and, even more importantly, to protect your health by lowering the risk of complications.
The Hemostatic Net, the latest innovation in face lift surgery, is improving patient recovery times and lowering the risk of complications — meaning patients can get back to regular life sooner and with fewer worries during recovery.
What is the Hemostatic Net?
In recent years, the Hemostatic Net is a new suturing technique in which a surgeon inserts many small “quilting” stitches near the surgical site (in addition to the more typical sutures that close the face lift incisions). These net sutures can be removed 2-3 days after surgery, although the other sutures typically remain for approximately 7-10 days longer.
How Does the Hemostatic Net Help?
While the risk is still quite low, the most common complication after a face lift is the development of a hematoma, or a collection of blood under the skin. Recent evidence, however, suggests that the use of a Hemostatic Net during a face lift significantly lowers the risk of hematomas by reducing the space between the top layers of skin and the tissue below.
What it means for you: In short, less bruising and less swelling after your face lift! While every patient is unique, this new technique tends to speed up healing and reduce post-op complications — making your recovery easier and giving you greater peace of mind.
